Just A Minute

I homeschool our five children and every day is full of surprises.  Yesterday was not at all disappointing.
While I was working with my older children, my four-year-old fairy (as she claims she is the tooth fairy) disappeared for a few moments.  I assumed she was visiting the restroom because she was back a moment later ready to do her "work".  Her "work" is her preschool worksheets and games that we do.  It wasn't until after school was finished that I discovered the reason for her disappearance.
She was watering her plant which is a seed that we had planted a few days before for a science project.  Unfortunately the dirt was all over the floor as well.  Thankfully we have a shop vacuum that cleaned it really well but I never know what I will find at any given moment.  : )  It keeps life interesting.

Birthdays Of My Dear Ones

This month we celebrated two birthdays in three days.

My oldest son turned 11.  He is so full of big dreams and ideas.  I am inspired many times when I talk to him.  He loves Legos and putting things together.  Many times when I need something fixed he does it for me.  He is definitely my right-hand man when his father is not here. He loves to dance, draw, write... he is my dreamer and artist.

My youngest daughter turned 4.  She is full of energy and life. She loves to dance, jump, run, turn flips... anything that requires movement. She also loves all things pink and purple and fun.  She brings lots of joy to our home.  She wants to pray over every meal and daily prays that God will bless our garden and that we will plant it.  I think she is ready for spring. : ) She is always set on "go".

Needless to say we had our fill of cake, laughter, and fun.  It was a fun few days. I'm thankful for the children they are becoming.  I pray they will continue to grow in God's grace.

Gratitude on a Monday

The evidences of God's grace this Monday...

things I am thankful for:

1. A curious baby boy
2. The laughter of my children playing after school
3. My husband's smile
4. The signs of coming spring.
5. My little ones telling me they love me.

One of my favorite quotes

"One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today."
